MY TRIP TO THE STRAND BOOKSTORE
What might be the purpose of this trip you might ask?
Acquisition of Waiting For You – Susane Colasanti.
Result --> MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! But the long walk to strand was fun as I was taking photos of places I like for my friends Korianne and Devyn who’re coming down to NYC in May!
SO lets start of with the bridge takes me to Lincoln Tunnel and then into the city and has a great view of the Hudson and the harbor!
Down 7th Ave..a.k.a Fashion Ave.
Next I walked past Madison Square Garden & The Empire State Building..2 pics :)
Borders...I spent quite some time here..but more in B&N...
I love walking down 7th Ave , but I love 5th even more... BUT there is this on 7th.
I would imagine if Devyn and Korianne were to be traditional tourists...they would be on one of these! :P
At long last...I had my camera to take pics of Greenwich Village! I forget everytime! :P
This reminded me of Susane Colasanti's book Take Me There and made me wonder of all the places mentioned in the book!
This was just hilarious...
And this made me stop in my tracks! LMAO I was hooked.
And this was sorta confusing.
This is for Chelsea! You can do it!: D
And this.,... Its been a while since I saw one of these...
Getting back to the main reason of why I was walking allover midtown..Strand. I checked the website to see if I could pre-order Waiting For You or even pick it up before the reading on May 13th and lo and behold....
THE BOOK WAS ALREADY ON THE SHELF!
At first, I stopped breathing altogether momentarily. Next, i made my parents check the website..Thrice!
Then I kept checking every hour until I fell asleep, making sure that it wasn't a glitch and they did indeed have it.
And it was there every single time, there listed under the New books section, alphabetized that too. So I wasn't mistaken.
So I woke up this morning with the intention of going to Strand first thing in the morning and getting the book so it would be my first book review for my new review blog, but you know how parents are..
They always spoil your plans. Especially mine.
So getting out of the apartment until the chores were done was impossible, and so I had to wait until 3 to leave!
EVEN THEN THE BUS WAS LATE! I mean c'mon, I pay taxes.
THE LEAST I EXPECT IS THE DARN BUS TO BE ON TIME.
But, no. Why would it be on time. It never is! So I did not get my book in time to read it today and write a review so it shall wait, patiently I hope until i can pay careful attention and savour it without feeling guilty about finals and term papers.
