MY TRIP TO THE STRAND BOOKSTORE
What might be the purpose of this trip you might ask?
Acquisition of Waiting For You – Susane Colasanti.
Result --> MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! But the long walk to strand was fun as I was taking photos of places I like for my friends Korianne and Devyn who’re coming down to NYC in May!
SO lets start of with the bridge takes me to Lincoln Tunnel and then into the city and has a great view of the Hudson and the harbor!
THE BOOK WAS ALREADY ON THE SHELF!
At first, I stopped breathing altogether momentarily. Next, i made my parents check the website..Thrice!
Then I kept checking every hour until I fell asleep, making sure that it wasn't a glitch and they did indeed have it.
And it was there every single time, there listed under the New books section, alphabetized that too. So I wasn't mistaken.
So I woke up this morning with the intention of going to Strand first thing in the morning and getting the book so it would be my first book review for my new review blog, but you know how parents are..
They always spoil your plans. Especially mine.
So getting out of the apartment until the chores were done was impossible, and so I had to wait until 3 to leave!
EVEN THEN THE BUS WAS LATE! I mean c'mon, I pay taxes.
THE LEAST I EXPECT IS THE DARN BUS TO BE ON TIME.
But, no. Why would it be on time. It never is! So I did not get my book in time to read it today and write a review so it shall wait, patiently I hope until i can pay careful attention and savour it without feeling guilty about finals and term papers.
Until then,
Take care
Love,
xoxo

Hey Mitali,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the world of blogging! I love your first post!
Unlike me, I want you to post regularly! :-)
The next time you come into the city for books, let's "do" the Stand together!
Um, I think Coe meant to write "let's 'do' the STRAND together." *hee hee*
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes -- your blog rocks! Congrats on taking the plunge :). I hope blogging about crazy YA authors is everything you hope it will be!
(Oh--and thanks for the NY pics! Always forget how cool the city can be).

And the Om/Ganesha is a relief sculpture that I did back in high school for my Art class..
It carved it out of Sheet rock..
